  1. What is Internet Call Manager (ICM)?
Internet Call Manager is the cost-effective solution to the problem of missed calls while you are dialed into the Internet. It is ideal for family households or for anyone who spends time on the Internet and doesn't want to lease another phone line. You can surf, e-mail, telnet or transfer files (ftp) worry-free while ICM monitors your telephone line.

When you receive a call while dialed into the Internet, the call forwards to an ICM server. The ICM server collects the Caller's information and sends it across the Internet to your computer screen. ICM displays a 'popup' window showing the caller ID information and you can choose one of the following options:
I'll call you back - this option plays a pre-recorded message telling the caller that you will call them back later. Take a listen....
    137k WAV  17k RealAudio
You call me back - this options plays a pre-recorded message asking the callers to call you back in a few minutes. Take a listen....
    157k WAV  19k RealAudio
Ignore - the caller will hear a pre-recorded message asking them to try your line again later.

US Customers - In addition to the above features, the service includes Web Voicemail and the ability to customize your "I'll call you back" and "You call me back" greetings.

There are also 2 premium versions of ICM available:

    ICM Plus
In some areas where InfoInterActive has partnered with the local telephone company, you'll be offered a version of ICM with some advanced features. At this time, ICM Plus is available within the following service areas: Cincinnati Bell Telephone, BCTel and MTT, and includes the following advanced features:
Answer - the caller is advised that you wish to take their call, is held while you disconnect from the Internet, then the call is redirected back to your phone line (your phone will ring). When you are finished with the call, simply reconnect to the Internet. Listen here....
    74k WAV  18k RealAudio
Transfer - if you have a cellular phone or a separate phone line where you would like to have your calls transferred while you're on the Internet, you can select Transfer and the caller will be immediately redirected to the number you choose.
Acknowledge - the caller is advised that you see that they are calling and is asked to leave a message (if you have voice mail) or to call you back later (if you do not). Here's a sample....
    93k WAV   23k RealAudio
Ignore - the caller is given the opportunity to leave a message (if you have voice mail) or is told that you are not available (if you do not). This is a great privacy feature.

    ICM Deluxe
In the Greater Toronto (Canada) area only, we offer Internet Call Manager Deluxe. This version of ICM has all the features you saw with ICM Plus, and a few in addition:
ICM Voice Mail - Includes all the features you would expect a voice mail system to have: it stores sound digitally, provides message waiting indication, and allows you to pick up messages from any Touch-Tone phone.
Personalized Messages - You can use simple push-button menus in your ICM Voice Mail Box to record your own messages for the Acknowledge and Answer options. It's a great way to personalize ICM to better meet your needs. Take a listen....
    Answer -
    73k WAV   18k RealAudio
    Acknowledge -
    73k WAV   18k RealAudio

  2. How does ICM work?
There are actually 2 parts to the ICM service. A phone part, and a computer part. On your computer, your software connects to our server, shown on your end by a green indicator light on your software. On the part of your telephone, your calls are set to forward to our server. When a call reaches our server, the information that was sent along with the call is sent to your computer screen, thus allowing you to control the call by clicking on the appropriate option.
  3. How much does ICM cost?
ICM is much less expensive than having another phone line. The cost is only $4.17 to $6.00 per month for the Classic and Plus service with ICM Deluxe customers paying only $6.49 per month, plus applicable taxes. Subscriptions are available monthly, semi-annually or annually (the longer your subscribe, the better the price). Prices by service and subscription (excluding taxes) are below:
    Service 1 Month 6 Months

  6. How long is the ICM free trial?
The ICM free trial for our Canadian customers lasts for 30 days or 12 call notifications (depending upon the area in which you are located). The trial starts at the time you receive your first call via ICM.
The ICM free trial for our US customers consists of 12 call notifications.
There is no charge for the free trial of Internet Call Manager from InfoInterActive. Some customers may pay a small monthly charge applied by your local phone company for an additional phone feature, Call Forward Busy or Call Forward Busy/Don't Answer (for ICM Deluxe). We will give you full details when you access our no obligation sign up page.

  7. What do I need to use ICM?
The minimum system requirements for ICM are a 486 PC running Windows 95, and a 14.4 modem. ICM is compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98 and in most cases Windows NT. Other operating systems such as MacIntosh, Linux, and Solaris are currently not supported with ICM. ICM works best if you are using a direct dial-up connection to an Internet Service Provider, and you must download and install our free Internet Call Manager software on your computer.

  8. Is ICM available in my area? Which versions?
ICM is available throughout the US and Canada, including Alaska and Hawaii. To find out specifically which versions are available in your area, please enter your information on our no obligation sign-up page. Once you have received this information, you can proceed with the sign up process and take advantage of the ICM free trial.

  9. Is ICM available for the Macintosh?
We are in the process of designing an ICM client for Macintosh systems. It will be available at some point in the near future. For updates, please visit our web site periodically at
    http://www.internetcallmanager.com/

  10. How does ICM work when I have an answering machine?
ICM has no effect on your answering machine. Your answering machine will still receive calls when you are not on the telephone. In such areas where you are able to use ICM with your telephone company's voice mail, ICM does not affect the normal functions of your voice mail. The ICM Deluxe service includes voice mail, so you would disable your answering machine in this case.

  11. Will ICM monitor ALL of my calls when I'm on the Internet?
Yes, ICM monitors all of your incoming calls while you are on the Internet. When you have an incoming call, an ICM window will appear on your computer screen displaying the caller ID information to let you know who is calling.

  12. What happens when I am not on the Internet and I get an incoming phone call?
When you are not on the Internet, or your ICM software is not connected to our server (shown on your end with a red light on the ICM software), your telephone will operate as normal (the caller will hear a ringing sound and the phone will ring on your end).

  13. Will ICM work with all Internet Service Providers (ISPs)?
ICM will work with all standard Internet Service Providers such as AOL and Sympatico, as long as they provide a direct dial-up connection to the Internet.

  14. How do I get ICM?
To begin your free trial of ICM, please go to our web site at
http://www.internetcallmanager.com/ and click on "Sign Up for a Free Trial" . You will be asked to provide some information and then there is a short download and installation process with easy step-by-step instructions to assist you. The sign up process for ICM should take less than 10 min.

  15. How do I cancel the ICM service?
If you no longer wish to use ICM, simply send us an e-mail at cancel@internetcallmanager.com or contact our Customer Service Department at 1-877-463-6426. Please include your ICM phone number (generally your home telephone number) and your first and last name with this correspondence.

  16. How will ICM affect my other phone features when I am not on the Internet?
Your other telephone features will work as they should when you are not on the Internet. Call Waiting is not necessary for ICM to work. As a matter of fact, if you subscribe to Call Waiting from your telephone company, you will have to disable it when you are on the Internet. This will not affect the use of your Call Waiting when you are not on the Internet.
For more information on how to do this, please consult our Customer Service Help Section at
    http://www.internetcallmanager.com/CustomerCare/cust2.html.

  17. I feel uncomfortable downloading your software. Is it safe?
Downloading our software is both secure and private. All of our software is made in-house, and all of our machines are continuously scanned for viruses, so we assure you, our software is safe. Please refer to our privacy statement for more information,
    http://www.internetcallmanager.com/Privacy.html

  18. I have Call Forwarding. Will ICM work with Call Forwarding?
If you have a call forwarding option that will forward your busy calls, such as the one we are often able to arrange for many of our customers, then ICM will automatically work when you are on the Internet.

If you use the type of forwarding option that you are able to turn off and on yourself, for ICM to work, you must set it to forward to our server at the phone number we give you. At the end of your Internet session, you must turn your call forwarding off so your telephone will function as usual.

If you use both forwarding features, for instance, if you have your busy calls forwarded to us, and a flexible call forwarding that you can set to another number, then your calls will be forwarded only to the other number when it is turned on. When you turn this forwarding option off, then your busy calls will go to our server.

  19. What do you arrange with my Telephone company?
If you are in one of the areas where we have been able to make arrangements, we will offer to arrange to have your phone line programmed on your behalf. The feature we arrange is Call Forward Busy, which forwards your calls to our server when you are dialed into the Internet. This is how ICM monitors your phone calls. There may be a small charge (usually less than $1/month) for this programming, charged by your telephone company. If this is the case, you will be informed of this when you complete the sign up page. When you are not on the Internet, your phone will behave as it did before you subscribed to ICM.
